Loy Krathong 2023

In a festive gathering, students from Walailak University's International College (WUIC), along with the Vice Dean and supporting staff, participated in the Walailak Loy Kratong celebration. The event, held in front of Thaiburi building at Walailak University, offered a rich cultural experience as attendees delved into Thai traditions, relished the vibrant festival atmosphere, and savored delectable Thai street food.

The Loy Kratong festival, a cherished Thai tradition, was brought to life with a rich array of cultural experiences. Attendees immersed themselves in the festivities, which included traditional activities, vibrant decorations, and a lively festival atmosphere. The celebration offered a wonderful opportunity for students and staff to engage with Thai customs and traditions in a meaningful way.

One of the highlights of the evening was the floating of Kratongs, beautifully decorated floating baskets made of banana leaves and adorned with flowers, candles, and incense. Participants made wishes and offered thanks to the goddess of water, embracing the spiritual significance of the festival.

In addition to the traditional ceremonies, the event featured an array of delectable Thai street food. Students and staff delighted in tasting various local delicacies, from savory snacks to sweet treats, enhancing their appreciation for Thai culinary traditions.
