WUIC Students joined International Food Festival

On Thursday, January 25, 2024, Center for International Affairs in collaboration with international staff and students organized International Food Festival activity at the Bota Market of WU Botanical Park. Professor Dr. Sombat Thamrongthanyawong, President of Walailak University presided over the food festival event to give welcoming and opening speech. Also present at the event were Associate Professor Dr. Surin Maisrikrod, Vice-President and Assistant Professor Dr. Patnarin Supakorn, Director of the Center for International Affairs Center to welcome and taste international foods prepared by WU international staff and students. There were over 60 staff and students attended the food festival.

The festival was officially opened by Professor Dr. Sombat Thamrongthanyawong, President of Walailak University, who gave a warm welcoming and opening speech. His address highlighted the importance of such events in fostering cross-cultural understanding and enhancing the sense of community within the university.

Joining the president were Associate Professor Dr. Surin Maisrikrod, Vice-President, and Assistant Professor Dr. Patnarin Supakorn, Director of the Center for International Affairs. Both officials expressed their enthusiasm for the event and their appreciation for the efforts of the international staff and students in bringing a taste of their home countries to the campus.

The International Food Festival featured an impressive variety of dishes from different parts of the world, prepared with care and authenticity by WU's international staff and students. Attendees had the opportunity to sample an assortment of flavors, ranging from spicy and savory to sweet and tangy, reflecting the rich culinary traditions of the participating countries.

The event attracted over 60 staff and students, who gathered to enjoy the food, share cultural stories, and build connections with their peers from different backgrounds. The atmosphere was filled with laughter, conversations, and the enticing aromas of international cuisine, making it a truly memorable occasion.
