WUIC Lecturers and Staff Attend the Opening Ceremony of Walailak Research Convention 2025

March 27, 2025 – Nakhon Si Thammarat, Thailand – Lecturers and staff from Walailak University International College (WUIC) participated in the opening ceremony of the Walailak Research Convention 2025 (WRC 2025) on March 27, 2025, at Walailak University’s Thaiburi Building.
The convention, held from March 26 to 28, 2025, highlights this year’s theme, “The Roles of Higher Education in Driving Sustainability and Blue Carbon.” The event serves as a key platform for researchers, academics, and experts to exchange insights on sustainable development and environmental preservation through higher education initiatives.
The opening ceremony featured a keynote address by Dr. Surachai Sathitkunarat, President of the Office of the National Higher Education, Science, Research, and Innovation Policy Council, Thailand. A panel discussion on “Blue Carbon and Sustainability” brought together leading researchers and policymakers from Thailand, Malaysia, the UK, and Japan to discuss the critical role of research and innovation in tackling climate change.
WUIC lecturers and staff joined academics from various institutions to explore innovative research approaches, network with experts, and contribute to discussions on sustainable development. Their participation underscores WUIC’s commitment to academic excellence and interdisciplinary research aligned with global sustainability goals.
In addition to the main sessions, WRC 2025 features over ten parallel sessions hosted by Walailak University’s Centers of Excellence and Research Centers, covering topics related to sustainability, disaster management, food science, health, and environmental research.
