On Wednesday, November 5, 2025, WUIC staff took the exchange students of Semester 2/2025 to join the Loy Krathong Festival at Sala Nam, Tha Sala District.
During the event, students learned about the cultural significance of Loy Krathong, a Thai festival that expresses gratitude to the water goddess and symbolizes letting go of misfortune. They also enjoyed making and decorating their own krathongs (floating baskets) from natural materials such as banana leaves, flowers, and candles.
The activity provided a wonderful opportunity for students to experience Thai traditions firsthand while fostering friendship and cultural exchange. The evening was filled with joy and beautiful moments as the students released their krathongs onto the water under the moonlit sky.
