Exchange Student (summer) Activities At Shih Chien University
City tour 2/17/2024
It was our first trip outside Taipei with International Student Affairs. We visited many places around Taipei, tried local Taiwanese food, listened to amazing historical stories about the places from our seniors, and met many new friends.
First meeting day 27/02/2024
For this event, we toured the school and got to know the juniors, seniors, and some new teachers. We played games to improve our friendships, and they gave us tips on how to survive at Shih Chien.
Japanese Cultural Day 12/3/2567
The ISA club held an activity on Japanese culture. They provided a brief background on Japanese food and taught how to introduce oneself in Japanese. Then, we made Dango, a traditional Japanese sweet, and enjoyed eating it together.
Hong Kong Cultural Day 26/3/2567
In this activity, they talked about the background of Hong Kong, including its food and language culture. We played games together, made toast using a Hong Kong recipe, and played cards in Hong Kong style.
Bartending day 9/4/2567
They gave us a lesson on how to be a bartender, including how to make drinks and techniques for creating a great cocktail. Everyone had the opportunity to 3 hrs make their own cocktail.
Guest speaker 10/4/2546
It was my first time listening to a guest speaker at Shih Chien. The speaker was a kind lady who talked about how to overcome challenges related to being part of the LGBTQ+ community in the workplace. We all discussed the topic, and I met many new people and shared 2 hrs our perspectives.
Spring term cultural trip 4/20/2024
We went to a farm and tea plantation to learn how to collect tea leaves and understand the teamaking process from an expert. We created our own tea flavors and enjoyed eating together.
Bowling day 6/5/2567
This was our first off-campus activity. They took us to a bowling alley near the university, taught us how to play, and then we separated into teams for a mini competition.
Chifeng street field trip 29/05/2024
Ceremony day 07/06/2024
We met the university president, who gave a speech to motivate and encourage everyone. We also met the seniors, congratulated them, and spent time together while they shared their tips and experiences.
