Walailak University Hosts Technology Transfer and Consultation Event to Empower Tha Sala Coastal Communities

On Wednesday, July 9, 2025, Walailak University organized a comprehensive event focused on technology transfer and professional consultation. The event welcomed participants from three key groups: fishermen from Ban Nai Tung, local Tha Sala restaurant entrepreneurs, and teachers and students from the local community school.
From 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., participants gathered at the Co-working Space for a series of expert-led consultation sessions and knowledge-sharing activities, including:
• Product Shelf-Life Extension by Asst. Prof. Dr. Thanong Eawsiri
• Halal Certification Process by Lecturer Husen Niyomdecha
• Financial and Accounting Guidance by Lecturer Suchart Chansaran
• Tourism Mapping and Promotion for Tha Sala by Lecturer Sunthorn Boonkaew
• English Communication Skills for Coastal Seafood Identity Menus by Dr. Korawan Rattanaburi and Dr. Suchita Manajit
• Packaging Design and Prototypes by Lecturer Songpan Chanthong, followed by an exhibition of sample packaging and group photos
After lunch, the group moved to the Pro-Chef Kitchen at the Food Practice Center for hands-on technology transfer sessions including:
• Processing Coastal Fishery Products (such as shrimp dumplings and crab meat rolls) by Lecturer Pawit Tansakul
• Continued English Communication Training for Coastal Identity Menus by Dr. Korawan Rattanaburi and Dr. Suchita Manajit
This initiative exemplifies the university’s commitment to bridging academic knowledge with local community development, empowering Tha Sala residents with practical skills, increased product value, and greater economic sustainability through collaboration and innovation.
