WUIC Students Compete in International Macro Business Simulation Global Competition 2024

On September 7-8, 2024, two teams from Walailak University International College (WUIC) showcased their talents at the highly anticipated International Macro Business Simulation (MBS) Global Competition 2024. The event, hosted by Kasetsart University, brought together over 60 teams from 27 universities across Thailand and 11 other countries, all eager to test their strategic business skills.

The competition kicked off with an opening address by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Apisit Songsasen, Vice President for Academic Affairs and Lifelong Learning at Kasetsart University, followed by insights from Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sasivimol Meeampol, Dean of the Faculty of Business Administration. Both speakers highlighted the importance of cultivating future business leaders through immersive, competitive experiences.

Arthur Hsiao, CEO of GT Top-Boss Education, delivered an engaging keynote on the MBS experience, emphasizing how the simulation mirrors real-world business challenges, testing strategic thinking, decision-making, teamwork, and problem-solving skills. Mr. Supakit Nakarajou, Managing Director of GT Technology Ltd., also highlighted the critical role of technology in shaping modern business practices.

A thought-provoking panel discussion on "AI: An Education Tool for Progress or Disruption" followed, featuring Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bordin Rassameethes, former Dean of the Faculty of Business Administration at KU; Dr. Vasu Keerativutisest from King Mongkut University; and Arthur Hsiao. Moderated by Mr. Gerald Lim, the discussion sparked lively debate and inspired participants to consider the future role of AI in business education.

The competition officially commenced in the afternoon with intense qualifying and spinning rounds, where teams navigated complex business scenarios in real-time. The day concluded with a vibrant welcome party, giving participants an opportunity to network and relax after a challenging first day.
