We exchanged in Saint Petersburg, the city itself felt like an open-air museum, where history and art converged at every corner. And I visited the Winter Palace and the Summer Palace, also seen at the Mariinsky Theatre. The ballet “Sleeping Beauty” is a feast for the eyes and ears to enjoy and immerse yourself in.

Our exchange program was not confined to classroom walls; it extended into every facet of Russian life. Our professors organized guided museum tours that illuminated the artistic legacy of the nation, offering insights into Russia’s storied past and the creative spirit that continues to thrive. One particularly memorable excursion was during our winter school session when we journeyed to the Gulf of Finland. The crisp winter air, combined with the awe-inspiring landscapes, created a magical atmosphere that left a deep impression in my heart .

Strolling through its vibrant neighborhoods, I found myself continually inspired by the harmonious interplay of tradition and modernity.

I also journeyed to Sochi, where the vibrant coastal life and sunny vistas offered a refreshing contrast to the historical depths of the north. In Murmansk, I found myself spellbound by the Northern Lights. Along the way, I also experienced chasing whales in the Arctic Ocean, it filled me with exhilaration and a deep sense of wonder. I also tried floating ice and enjoyed a joyful ride on a sled, a true taste of the winter wonderland that Russia offers

One of the most unexpected yet delightful parts of my journey was the experience of riding Russian trains. With no internet connection to distract me, I was completely absorbed in the beautiful view of Russian. As the train chugged along scenic routes, breathtaking landscapes streamed past my window like scenes from an ever-changing painting. I also found that some travelers accompanied by their pets, sometimes they walked along the way, added a uniquely heartwarming touch to the journey.

Reflecting on my semester in Russia, I realize that this exchange program was far more than an academic pursuit—it was a transformative journey of personal growth. I chose to participate because I wanted to see the world beyond textbooks and classrooms, to immerse myself in diverse cultures, and to collect experiences that would forever change my perspective on life. Every museum visit, every train ride, and every adventure in cities like Sochi, Moscow, and Murmansk reinforced my belief that stepping out of one’s comfort zone is the true path to discovery.

This semester has not only enriched my academic knowledge but also filled my heart with unforgettable memories of art, culture, and nature’s splendor. I am eager to embrace more of the world’s endless wonders.
