Today, Walailak University International College (WUIC) proudly organized the event “WUIC Hype-Up Homecoming: New Kick Plugged In”, a vibrant and welcoming activity designed to energize students and prepare them for the new academic semester. The event brought together both returning students and newcomers of exchange students in a spirit of unity, fun, and learning.
The day began with a warm and inspiring welcome speech delivered by the Dean of WUIC, who encouraged students to embrace the opportunities ahead and make the most of their time at the university. The speech set the tone for the event, emphasizing the importance of community, academic excellence, and international exposure.
Following the opening, students participated in a series of ice-breaking activities, which were designed not only to create a lively atmosphere but also to help students form new friendships and strengthen bonds within the WUIC community. These activities played a vital role in easing the transition for new students and fostering a sense of belonging among participants.
Students then enjoyed a casual lunch together, providing time for informal conversations and further social interaction in a relaxed environment. The lunch break helped create an inclusive space where students could connect across different year levels and backgrounds.
The afternoon session was packed with informative and practical segments aimed at equipping students with the knowledge and confidence to thrive during their time at WUIC. Senior students shared their internship experiences, offering valuable insights into real-world work environments. This was followed by exchange program experience sharing, where returning exchange students inspired their peers by reflecting on their time studying abroad.
In addition, the college conducted a detailed academic orientation, covering key academic policies, expectations, and support systems. Practical guidance was also given on important daily-life matters, including dormitory rules, how to pay for electricity fees, and how to order food delivery around the campus. These sessions were especially beneficial for new students adjusting to independent university life.
Overall, “WUIC Hype-Up Homecoming: New Kick Plugged In” was more than just a welcome event—it was a celebration of community, growth, and new beginnings. It reinforced WUIC’s commitment to creating a supportive and dynamic environment where students from diverse backgrounds can thrive both academically and socially. With enthusiasm running high and new friendships formed, the WUIC community is ready to take on the new semester together.
