WUIC Lecturer Presides King Taksin The Great Monument’s Lay the Foundation Stone Ceremony

On 5-6 November 2022, Dr Wasin Praditsilp, a lecturer of Walailak Univeristy International College (WUIC), appointed the President of Organising Committee, King Taksin The Great Monument at Wat Kongka Leap (Buddhist temple) in Tha Sak, Mueang District, Nakhon Si Thammarat. Lay the Foundation Stone Ceremony is a Bhraman-Hindu auspicious ceremony to consecrate the land as well as asking for holy spirits' permission to build the monument. Dr Wasin, Walailak University acdemics and students, and representatives from public and private sectors around Thailand joined the ceremony in Mueang Nakhon to celebrate the monument establishment and raised funds to help renovate Wat Kongka Leap, once was an ancient wharf for the Southern cities.

The establishment of King Taksin The Great is part of Walailak University's academic service projects 2022-2023 entitled: "The First Step to Nakhon Si Thammarat." Dr Wasin, the head of public relations team, leads in fund raising and event organising to help turn Wat Kongka Leap to a new historic and cultural tourism venue, depicting the story between King Taksin and Nakhon Si Thammarat.
