Walailak University President Professor Dr. Sombat Thamrongthanyawong welcomed Prof. Dipl Des. Claudia Maria Aymar, Head of Program Department of Media: Conception and Production, RheinMain University of Applied Sciences, who paid a visit to Walailak University today at Hornor Hall, Walailak University Hospital.
RheinMain University of Applied Sciences has a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Walailak University International College in areas of student and staff mobility and academic cooperation. This visit is believed to carry out many tangible outcomes in the future.
President Sombat, on this occasion, briefed Prof. Dipl Des. Claudia Maria Aymar and her team on Walaialk University's history as being a public autonomous university funded by the government, and is classified as a frontier research university in Thailand.
The university's success stems from the dedication of every staff over the years as evidenced by the fact that Walailak University is ranked at 1501+ by Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2023, and has almost zero percent dropout rate since implementing the United Kingdom of Professional Standard Framework (UKPSF) in its educational reform.
Associate Professor Dr. Surin Maisrikrod, Vice President for Global Engagement, said "UKPSF is a system that trains teachers to be professional teachers". 100 percent of teaching staff at Walailak University are required to pass UKPSF training. Currently, over 90 percent of lecturers are certified by Advance HE based on UKPSF, confirming the university's dedication to enhancing student-centered learning to improve critical, analytical, and synthetic thinking.
