On April 24th at 10am, Walailak University International College (WUIC) organized a farewell ceremony for 11 exchange students from the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration and National University of Mongolia. The event was graced by the presence of Walailak University President, Prof. Dr. Sombat Thamrongthanyawong, who gave the farewell remark, and Asst. Prof. Dr. Patnarin Supakorn, Director of Center for International Affairs, who also gave the farewell speech.
In his speech, Prof. Dr. Sombat Thamrongthanyawong congratulated the students on their successful completion of the exchange program from February 2023 to April 2023. He also expressed his appreciation for the students' presence in the WUIC community during their stay. During their time at WUIC, the exchange students had the opportunity to study up to four courses including English, Innovation and entrepreneurship, principles of marketing, and economics for business. In addition to academic activities, WUIC also organized several activities such as airport pick-up, orientation, campus tour, friendly badminton competition with Thai students from other schools, and WU Songkran.
The Center for International Affairs also organized a trip to Suratthani and Khanom beach for a cultural experience, which was a unique opportunity for the students to gain a firsthand understanding of Thai culture and lifestyle.During their time at WUIC, the exchange students had the opportunity to study up to four courses including English, Innovation and entrepreneurship, principles of marketing, and economics for business. In addition to academic activities, WUIC also organized several activities such as airport pick-up, orientation, campus tour, friendly badminton competition with Thai students from other schools, and WU Songkran.
Prof. Dr. Sombat Thamrongthanyawong thanked WUIC for organizing the many activities and expressed his hope that the students would take with them fond memories of their time at WUIC, and that the exchange program has helped them to develop new perspectives, skills, and friendships that will last a lifetime.
He wished the students all the best in their future endeavors and hoped that they had a safe and pleasant journey back home. The farewell ceremony was a fitting end to a successful exchange program, and the university looks forward to welcoming more international students in the future.
