The Peterhof Palace, also known as the "Russian Versailles", is a series of palaces and gardens located on the Gulf of Finland, approximately 30 kilometers from St. Petersburg. It was originally built in the early 18th century by Peter the Great and has since been expanded and renovated by subsequent Russian monarchs.

The palace complex features an impressive array of fountains, statues, and ornate buildings, including the Grand Palace, which is the main attraction. The interior of the palace is decorated with exquisite works of art, including paintings, sculptures, and tapestries, many of which were created by renowned artists of the time.

The WUIC students were able to tour the palace and its grounds, guided by their Russian language teacher, who provided them with historical and cultural context. The visit was a unique opportunity for the students to experience Russian history and culture firsthand.

Overall, the visit to the Peterhof Palace was a memorable experience for the WUIC students and an excellent opportunity to learn more about the rich history and cultural heritage of St. Petersburg and Russia as a whole.
