On 31 May 2023, 11.00 AM - 12.00 PM, Walailak University International College (WUIC) organised the first meeting on WUIC Social Engagement Projects 2023 to orient lecturers and students who volunteer to execute the projects. This year, WUIC launched 2 projects, i.e., “Tha Sala Global,” and “Golden Homestay: Embrace Elders, Experience Culture” aiming to develop social and economic impact with Tha Sala civil society such as local businesses and the locals. The projects have employed PAR or Participatory Action Research as project design, in which they welcome all stakeholders to take part in the projects. There are 10 students registered as research crew, and WUIC plans to execute the projects for at least 3 years to ensure the projects’ impact is assessable and empirical among the stakeholders.
