Visas & Travel

Gather all related information about country you are going to, which is Thailand, in order to understand the culture, way of life, weather, food, transportation, and so on. This would give you basic ideas about what you will face during your studies, and this is also to familiarize yourself to the environment including expectation and emotion to new culture when you arrive.

Carefully check your passport if the validity is still usable. Normally, to leave your country or to enter any country, your passport needs to have at least 6-month validity. If you do not have one, you should have your passport done as soon as possible to avoid any delay in processing.

Carefully check if there is Royal Thai Embassy or Consulate General in your home country or in your nearest city. If there is no targeted embassy or consulate general in your country, then you should cross-check where you can have your Visa issued.

- Please be reminded that each embassy, including Royal Thai Embassy, has the policies or rules that only certain nationals or certain neighboring countries can apply for Visa at that embassy. Therefore, you need to check whether the Royal Thai Embassy where you plan to go and apply for your Visa accept your application from the country of your passport or not. This is to avoid being rejected or requested to supply heavy documentations than normal applicants which may be time consuming and frustrating.

Study about airports closest to your university or institution. This will give you an idea how you would connect your international flight to that specific airport. Also, please keep in mind about immigration and customs clearance of those airports so that you will know what are or are not allowed to bring in to the country and what you should take with you to avoid the seizure from the competent authority.
