Successful Staff Mobility Program Boosts Global Collaborations and Academic Achievements

 

In a transformative two-week staff mobility program between Walailak University International College (WUIC) and Kazakh Ablai Khan University of International Relations and World Languages (KazUIRWL), Dr. Wasin emerged with notable achievements and collaborations, marking a significant milestone in international academic partnerships.

Key Outcomes:

1. Honors and Recognition:

Dr. Wasin was conferred the esteemed title of "Honourable Visiting Professor" by KazUIRWL and the Ministry of Education, accompanied by a trophy. This recognition was a result of nominations by the Dean and Heads.

2. Teaching Excellence Acknowledged:

Prof. Salima, Rector of KazUIRWL, awarded Dr. Wasin the "Excellent Teaching Award," based on nominations by students, demonstrating his commitment to academic excellence.

3. Expanded Opportunities:

Due to the success of (1) and (2), the Kazakh Ministry has extended an offer for two additional positions for Thai visiting professors, funded by the Ministry. These positions, requiring 5 SCOPUS publications, were forwarded to the Economics Program.

4. Global Collaborations Established:

Dr. Wasin successfully forged collaborations with esteemed institutions including Busan University of Foreign Studies (South Korea), Aarhus University (Denmark), and UPM (Malaysia). Collaborations also extended to specific programs at WU, such as Law, International Relations, Communication, and English.

5. Invitation to Kazakh National University:

Dr. Wasin received a prestigious invitation to visit Kazakh National University in Astana in 2024, reinforcing the global impact of the program.

6. Academic Leadership Appointment:

Dr. Wasin's expertise led to his appointment as an Academic Consulting Board member for the International Business Program at KazUIRWL.

7. Research Initiatives:

Four new co-research projects, including a digital marketing study led by Vice Dean Yeldos and Dr. Wasin, were initiated during the visit.

Program Highlights:

• The program's condensed schedule included high-profile visits, course orientations, an international conference, city tours, and academic interactions.

• Notable events included an Entrepreneurship Course Orientation, an International Conference with celebratory events, a Visiting Professor City Tour, and a Shymbulak Trip led by the Vice Dean. Dr. Wasin's Reflection:

• Dr. Wasin expressed optimism that the outcomes and activities would fortify collaboration and contribute to the international exposure of WUIC and KazUIRWL, emphasizing the investment's significance in Almaty, Kazakhstan.

This successful staff mobility program signifies a thriving global academic community, fostering knowledge exchange and collaboration on an international scale.
