Kickstarting the “ชานชรา กอดผู้เฒ่า เล่าวัฒนธรรม” Project: Golden Homestays, Embrace Elders, Experience Culture

We are thrilled to announce the successful kickstart of our much-anticipated homestay project for the elderly, the "ชานชรา กอดผู้เฒ่า เล่าวัฒนธรรม" (Golden Homestays: Embrace Elders, Experience Culture). On June 16th, 2023, we hosted a dynamic seminar to introduce the project, educate participants about the concept of homestays, and provide guidance on becoming homestay hosts.

The event brought together individuals passionate about fostering intergenerational connections and preserving our cultural heritage. Among the distinguished speakers were the owner and manager of Baan Maimoon, who generously shared their wealth of experience in successfully operating a homestay business for nearly a decade. Their insights and stories inspired all attendees, setting the stage for an enriching and rewarding journey ahead.

We were delighted to welcome four talented students from Walailak University International College (WUIC), specializing in business studies. These eager students seized the opportunity to learn through hands-on experience, gaining invaluable knowledge about starting a small-scale business while immersing themselves in the local community. The project serves as a unique platform for our students to develop practical skills, establish meaningful connections, and broaden their horizons.

The overwhelming interest and support from the villagers were heartwarming. We are thrilled to announce that four passionate individuals have stepped forward to become homestay hosts. Their diverse backgrounds and occupations reflect the vibrant tapestry of our community. From lifelong business owners to village health volunteers, from noodle sellers and motorbike taxi drivers to workers in the local mangosteen factory and market vegetable vendors, each host brings their unique stories and expertise to create an unforgettable experience for our guests.
