On Tuesday 25 July 2023, 8.30 AM – 4.30 PM, Dr. Wasin Praditsilp, FHEA, a lecturer at Walailak University International College (WUIC), was invited to organise a workshop on “Social Media Marketing for Community Enterprises” for locals and members of Koh Petch community enterprises at Koh Petch Municipal District Office, in Hua Sai, Nakhon Si Thammarat. More than 50 locals participated in the workshop. The workshop began with a short lecture in marketing, digital marketing, social media marketing, and live selling via social media channels. The participants formed groups and analysed their community enterprises’ SWOT, Ansoff’s Matrix, and marketing mix of 4Ps or 7Ps, then presented their analysis to all participants to share and learn from each other.
For the afternoon session, Dr. Wasin began with a demonstration on how to create a new social media account and/or page, then Mr Pichet Krodkangkun, an academician at School of Accountancy and Finance, Walailak University, organised a live selling activity, allowing all participants to try a live streaming and sell their products to Thai netizens. The participants voiced that they enjoyed the live streaming and changed their perception that the live selling is too difficult for the locals. The session ended with a Q&A session and dinner. The Municipal District Office asks Dr. Wasin to organise the workshop for the locals again next year.
