On 1 October 2023, 8 AM – 3 PM, Dr Wasin Praditsilp, FHEA, a lecturer at Walailak University International College (WUIC), organised a seminar on “Consumer Protection & Sustainable Customer Management” for MNM63-613 Sustainability for Business Management, Master of Management (International Program), College of Graduate Studies (CGS), Walailak University. The morning session covered the topics: Consumer rights, consumerism and consumer advocacy, government regulatory, consumer privacy online, mediation and arbitration, and social responsibility. The afternoon session illustrated the importance of Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) and digital regulations around the world, to protect the consumer’s online privacy as well as the effects of the acts on digital marketing strategies and practices. This session allowed students to discuss customer relationships management (CRM), consumer privacy, and sustainable management in detail. The seminar ended with global case studies and group discussions on consumer trust breach and recovery approaches.
